Most common Xiaomi phone faults and what they mean

When a Xiaomi phone starts to „act up”, the symptom often points to a specific part. Below are the faults clients come in with most often, and what may help before your visit.

Xiaomi phone screen is broken

Most often this is caused by a drop or pressure in a pocket. Only the protective glass, the outer glass, or the touchscreen with the display panel itself may be broken.

What you can check yourself: Remove the protective film or glass and check whether the crack remains beneath it. Do not hit or press the damaged screen, so you do not injure yourself on shards.

We replace the screen – from 55 €. The final price depends on the model and screen type.

Xiaomi phone no longer charges

The cause may be a clogged or worn charging port, a faulty cable or an unsuitable charger. Less often, it is the battery or the charging chip.

What you can check yourself: Try a different cable, a different charger and a different socket. Do not open the phone yourself and do not poke anything into the port.

We clean or replace the charging port – from 25 €. If the cause is the battery, replacement is from 29 €.

Xiaomi phone drains quickly

Over the years, a battery loses capacity. Fast discharge can also be caused by a bright screen, many apps running in the background or a weak network signal.

What you can check yourself: Check which apps use the most battery, reduce the screen brightness and turn off unused features. Also read how habits affect the battery.

We replace the battery – from 29 €.

Xiaomi phone overheats

Overheating can be caused by load during gaming, intensive charger operation, an old battery or a software error. If your phone gets hot for no reason, it is a sign that it is worth having it checked.

What you can check yourself: Remove the case, stop using the phone while it is charging and do not charge it in the sun. Read more in the article why a phone gets hot while gaming.

We carry out diagnostics and, if necessary, replace the battery (from €29) or resolve a software problem (from €15).

Xiaomi phone with water damage

Water causes corrosion and short circuits, especially if the phone was connected to a charger. The damage does not appear immediately, but over several days.

What you can check yourself: Do not connect the phone to a charger and do not try to turn it on. Wipe the exterior and bring it in for diagnostics as soon as possible; do not dry it with a hair dryer or in rice.

We carry out diagnostics and cleaning from €20. If parts are damaged, their replacement is charged separately.

Xiaomi phone won’t turn on or won’t power up

The cause may be a discharged or faulty battery, a software error, or a damaged charging port or motherboard after a drop or water exposure.

What you can check yourself: If the phone is damaged (water spill, dropped), do not try to turn it on – bring it in for inspection. Do not open the phone yourself.

We determine the cause during diagnostics. Common solutions: battery replacement (from €29), port repair (from €25) or software work (from €15).

Xiaomi phone freezes or gets stuck on the logo

Most often this is a failed system update, full storage or corrupted system files. Sometimes a worn-out memory chip is to blame.

What you can check yourself: Try restarting the phone and, if possible, free up storage space. Before any factory reset, make a backup if the phone allows it.

We perform software updates or error fixes from €15.

Xiaomi phone: can’t hear the caller or the caller can’t hear me

The speaker or microphone openings often get clogged with dust; less often, the module itself fails. To learn how they work, read the article about the speaker.

What you can check yourself: Check that the sound is not muted and that a Bluetooth headset is not connected. Clean the openings with a soft dry brush, but do not insert sharp objects.

We replace the speaker or microphone from €25.

Xiaomi phone camera takes blurry photos

The cause is often a dirty or cracked lens glass, but the camera module may also be damaged after a drop.

What you can check yourself: Clean the lens with a clean microfiber cloth and try a different camera or mode. More in the article how a phone camera works.

We replace the camera module from €35. For a cracked back glass, from €25.

Is it worth repairing a Xiaomi phone or buying a new one?

The answer usually depends on the ratio between the repair cost and the value of the phone. If a broken screen or worn-out battery costs less than a third of the price of a similar new phone, and the rest of the device works well, repair almost always pays off.

For example, a Redmi Note series phone that needed a new battery costing a few tens of euros can serve for several more years after the replacement. On the other hand, if the main board has failed and the phone is already old, it is worth considering whether buying a new one would be cheaper.

Before deciding, compare not only the price, but also how important your data, photos and already configured apps are to you. Setting up a new phone and transferring data also takes time.

  • Repair usually pays off: screen, battery, charging port, speaker, microphone, back glass.
  • It is worth considering a new phone: recurring motherboard faults, a very old model, several different problems at once.
  • Diagnostics help you make a decision: you will hear the price and the likely outcome before the work begins.

If you are unsure, bring the phone in for inspection and ask for an estimate of how much the repair would cost. You will be able to decide already knowing the exact amount.

Which Xiaomi models we repair

We repair the most popular Xiaomi series that we most often see in Lithuania: Redmi Note, Redmi, Mi, POCO and newer numbered models such as 11T, 12T or 13T. Parts prices and availability vary by model, so the final amount becomes clear after inspection.

If you don’t see your model on the list, ask anyway. You can view the specifications of newer models, such as the 15T series, in the article about the Xiaomi 15T Pro, and if you have a device from another manufacturer, see the repair pages for Huawei, Samsung Galaxy or iPhone.

Xiaomi warranty repair and paid repair: what’s the difference

Many people search for „Xiaomi phone warranty repair”. A warranty defect is usually handled by the seller or manufacturer according to the purchase terms, so it is worth first checking your purchase documents and the warranty rules.

Taisykla7 carries out paid repairs: for an agreed price, we repair a phone whose warranty has expired or is no longer valid for other reasons, such as mechanical damage or water. Before handing the phone over to the seller, keep in mind that opening the device yourself may affect the warranty.

If the phone is locked or unlocked with an account or an operator restriction, see the page about phone unlocking.

How to extend the lifespan of your Xiaomi phone

Some of the faults our customers come in with are caused by everyday habits. A battery ages faster when the phone often overheats, when we charge it to 100 percent and leave it overnight, or when we use a random, poor-quality charger.

A general tip for protecting the screen: a case with raised edges and a protective glass cushion the impact when the phone falls on a corner. Read more in our articles on battery lifespan and phone overheating while gaming.

  • Use a charger with the right power rating and an undamaged cable.
  • Do not leave your phone in the sun, in a car or next to a heater.
  • If the port has collected dust, do not poke metal objects into it – it is better to bring the phone in for inspection.
  • Regularly back up your photos and contacts.
