Vacuum cleaner repair in Vilnius most often starts with the same problem: the vacuum cleaner suddenly stops sucking, switches off after a few minutes, makes a strange humming noise, or simply does not respond to the button. Before buying a new one, it is worth finding out the real cause – quite a few faults are minor, such as a broken button or a damaged plug.
This page explains how to reach our branch in Vilnius, what to bring with you, how the inspection works and when a repair is worthwhile. You will find indicative prices in the table below, and we will give the final price only after the fault has been identified.

Vacuum cleaner repair in Vilnius: how to bring it and what to take with you
The branch is located inside the RIMI store; look for the “ELMEISTRAI” sign. We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, and the branch is closed at weekends.
You can bring the vacuum cleaner just as it stands in your closet, but a few things will speed up the inspection and help determine the cause more accurately.
- The power cord and all accessories from the set that are related to the fault (for a cordless model – the charging stand or charger, for a robot – the base).
- The battery of a stick vacuum cleaner, if it can be removed.
- A short description: what you heard, whether there was a smell or not, and whether the fault appeared suddenly or gradually.
- For a wet vacuum cleaner – an emptied water tank.
Before bringing it in, empty the dust container or bag and clean the filters – a clean vacuum cleaner is easier to inspect, and a blockage can often be identified at home.
What happens after you leave your vacuum cleaner
First, we perform diagnostics, which costs €10. Afterwards, we tell you what is broken and how much the repair would cost, and we agree on the price before starting the repair.
A 2-month warranty applies to the following work: motor repair or replacement, repair or replacement of the switch-on circuit and button, repair of the power control mechanism, coil repair, mains voltage plug repair, replacement of internal mechanisms and replacement of the stick vacuum battery. If the vacuum cleaner is insured, we can prepare a fault inspection report for the insurance company for €30.
For more information about the whole service, including industrial and wet vacuum models, read the main vacuum cleaner repair page.
When a repair is worthwhile and when it is better to consider a new vacuum cleaner
The general rule is simple: if the repair costs considerably less than a similar new vacuum cleaner, repairing it is usually worthwhile. This applies especially to models that worked well. For a specific model, it is best to check at the branch.
It is usually worth repairing when the button or plug is broken, the cord does not wind up, the motor is worn out or a new battery is needed. You should think longer if the housing is badly cracked, the vacuum cleaner has been flooded with water or has burned out more than once, and its value is low.
If you have a robot vacuum cleaner rather than a regular one, you will find the relevant information on a separate page.
- If it sparks, smokes or smells burnt, immediately pull the plug out of the socket and do not use the vacuum cleaner until a technician has inspected it.
- Weak suction often indicates not a serious fault but a clogged hose, a full container or dirty filters – these are worth checking first.
- Switching off after a few minutes is often related to overheating: check whether the air path is blocked.
Do not use a vacuum cleaner that smells burnt or sparks, and do not try to take it apart yourself – this could result in a short circuit.
